The Covert Flyball Club was started about 6 years ago by Sam, who after having a training day with the PODS flyball team decided to have a go herself. There were no teams set up in Derby so she went about setting up one for herself.

Her parents farm is called "The Covert", and is the place where we train hence the name of the club. One of the first and now longest serving members of the club was Melissa, with her dog Jillie, who went on to compete with Sam in that first year at YKC (Young Kennel Club) at Crufts, where they gained second place.

After that Sam was no longer eligible for the YKC so went about setting up a full Crufts Senior team, where she was joined by Sue, Denise, Shirley and Melissa's parents Chris & Tracy and her younger sister Laura.

Over the past few years many things have changed, including Denise taking over the running of the club, but we are going from strength to strength and having a lot of fun along the way!
